Dear Patrons and Well Wishers,

It has been a satisfying journey for four decades as an entrepreneur with lot of challenges and achievements. What started off a small “Start UP” with hardly 9 people is today an established enterprise with a human resource of about 200 people. We started the aluminium joinery business when aluminium profiles were not freely available in the market and there was the quota system by government of India. The use of wood in buildings was banned through a government order, and this paved the way for other building materials for joinery in buildings. Steel was the immediate replacement but due to corrosion especially in coastal areas, aluminium gained prominence. Since there was limitations and colour matching issues with anodising, a new technology emerged in surface finishing – powder coat painting. We were fortunate enough to establish several first in the state of Kerala:

• Powder coating unit in Kerala

• Organised aluminium fabrication shop

• Introduce Aluminium Composite Panels imported from Germany

• Aluminium expanded grills for windows

• Dorma Fixtures for frameless glass assemblies, automatics

• Fire rated metal doors

• Modular partitions

• Manufacture of toughened safety glass and energy efficient DGU.

It is a gratifying moment to learn that more than 100 of our human resource got trained in our facilities and have established themselves in various parts of the Globe successfully. We were fortunate enough to establish markets for our products in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Sri Lanka and Maldives. We were the first contractors at the Airports Authority of India – AAI Trivandrum Airport, when it was established to provide façade glazing and office partitions, including security hold area. One of the first landmark buildings, GEFAB was associated with including design, engineering, fabrication and installation is the Legislative Assembly Building in Trivandrum. Similarly, the first work at the Technopark and Infopark was done by GEFAB. Perhaps we were Blessed with an opportunity to do the first semi-unitized and fully unitized façade glazing work in Kerala. GEFAB is now quite active in Kerala, TN and Karnataka with key association with YKK I Win and Reynaers System Joinery. I would like to thank all the patrons and well wishers who have supported and guided us through our four-decade long journey. The spirit of growth and aspiration to excel in what we do is still burning bright with full vigour with the induction of the next generation into business. We are seriously on the look out for a strategic partnership to catalyse our growth story in the near future.
